Recruiters: Dec 1, 2009. Adapt Or Risk Being Sued by the FTC.”

Money to Meaning FTC regs movie. TURN ON YER AUDIO.

Should you get tied up in your underwear about the new regs? Not. This is the fed’s attempt to protect consumers from big results claims that are extremely rare and unusual. Unsuspecting peeps should be told how rare those are, is all.  So now that will be required.

That’s big for Internet Marketers and MLMers who have led with the big claims for years.   Second, you’ll also be required to tell if you get paid for stuff you recommend – if you do get paid.  (We know why peeps have not been open about that up front – it makes their recommendation less valuable.)

It’s not rocket science.  That’s why I suggest you not get tangled up in your underwear about this. Obey two rules:

Rule 1: Present your business as if each prospect were your your favorite auntie or grandma. Would you take their last dollars by telling them it’s easy to make big money for their retirement?

Or, would you persuade her to buy something she doesn’t really need, without telling you are getting paid, because you need the money?

Rule 2. Golden Rule.  Do unto others…

    Hey Kim

I’ve been using your cool products and following along with your marketing for over 3 years now.

It’s really cool to know what you say in the video is actually how you do the business.

Well Done, I intend to have a clear honest (almost kern-like) relationship with my list/customers/friends like you do!

    Be well

    Kim,
Your common sense approach and frank honesty will help bring law & Order to this wild west frontier call the net. All business depends on solid products or services and honest daily effort. Thanks and keep patrollling the streets!!!

  • Hello Kim,

I worked with you in the 90s and it has been great following you with your training. I am happy to see you put this into perspective and not make a mountain out of a mole hill. My understanding that people in mlm were never suppose to make health claims or income claims. Each person has a different makeup and each person will respond differently to any product. As far as income claims, it depends on how hard or smart one works. There is “work” in network marketing and it is hard work. Who ever thought you could take the road of lease resistance and make a lot of money?

One thing I would like to know is if a product is backed by research over years, how is this looked upon?

Thanks for all your support and keep up the good work!

Love the video, love the idea of responsibility and honesty that must be conveyed by everyone, ha.

Will work well for regular advertisements, throw the mento’s kid in detention hall!!!!

    Technically
I am a fast reader – yes, so for me the text could have moved alot faster ;)

    Question
Whats your take on the newest Amway ruling, the customers belong to them rather than the distributor who sold the product? In my mind makes it much more important the the company BE new school rather than the rep.

    hi,

    nice vid, beautifully made.

  • The new regulations will mean smaller numbers of people in MLM, but fewer people failing. “Taking out the trash” is what will basically happen.

Retention will increase, and average compensation will be (slightly) higher.

I NEVER present my business in a way that focuses on big-money potential. And my entire product presentation is, “Try it, you might like it. If you don’t, there’s a money-back guarantee!”

Now there will be more people like me.

Does this mean you will have to change your program title, “100 customers in 100 days,” too? Or, is that result typical from people who have purchased it?
